Well, we are in week 6 now and I have been asked the question what stage of Tuckmans' team development model are we in. To be honest as a virtual team we have come a long way, many of us had a hard time adjusting to Walden.edu, but after communication and working as a team we all managed to get on the correct track. Keep in mind we have never met each other in person, but it feels like we have, which is awesome.
At this point, we are in the homestretch and I would have to say that we are in the stage of Norming, because each of us have one goal in mind and that is to complete this class and to do our very best. When it comes to communication through discussion questions we are mature and communicate well although some comments may not be what we intend to hear, we accept it and move forward. This is a learning process for each of us.
I can also see the virtual team in the Performing stage this is because we have a mission. As we all come together collectively and assist each other whether it is with a question being answered or just direction, we are there for each there. This is proof that we are competent, mature, and able to handle the processes with minimal or no supervision. Dissent is to be expected but as long as the team can get through it. The instructor is always participating and giving us feedback which is necessary for our growth and development.
We are about to make a home run.
