MHRM 6100 Week 8 Williams+ Denise

Wow! We are at the end of the road in the first of many classes for our Masters Human Resource Management. During the last eight weeks I have definitely used mobile technology, I chose to use mobile technology because it was fast and easy to use from anywhere. I was able to log into Waldenu.edu from anywhere using my Iphone and answer questions and communicate with my fellow team mates.

We are in the Performing stage of Tuckman Team Stage Development. The reason I can attest to this is because we have completed all of the assigned task and we are preparing to move onto the next class which puts us closer to our goal. I do believe being able to stay informed by using mobile technology and social networking has allowed the team to remain in constant communication.
In the upcoming classes I think that mobile technology and social networking will assist us and be a tool that we may find ourselves using more often because of the demands that are going to be placed on us as we progress .

The experiences that I was fortunate to encounter were awesome and I am looking forward to the Tuckmans' stages int he upcoming classes. Having knowledge of the Tuckmans' stage gives a team the advantage of how to work together and agree to disagree. I enjoyed learning about the Tuckmans' stage I am looking forward to learning more. Tuckmans' stages will facilitate the team in the upcoming classes and we also give individual insight on situations.

MHRM6100+Week 6

Well, we are in week 6 now and I have been asked the question what stage of Tuckmans' team development model are we in. To be honest as a virtual team we have come a long way, many of us had a hard time adjusting to Walden.edu, but after communication and working as a team we all managed to get on the correct track. Keep in mind we have never met each other in person, but it feels like we have, which is awesome.

At this point, we are in the homestretch and  I would have to say that we are in the stage of Norming, because each of us have one goal in mind and that is to complete this class and to do our very best. When it comes to communication through discussion questions we are mature and communicate well although some comments may not be what we intend to hear, we accept it and move forward. This is a learning process for each of us.

I can also see the virtual team in the Performing stage this is because we have a mission. As we all come together collectively and assist each other whether it is with a question being answered or just direction, we are there for each there. This is proof that we are competent, mature, and able to handle the processes with minimal or no supervision. Dissent is to be expected but as long as the team can get through it. The instructor is always participating and giving us feedback which is necessary for our growth and development.

We are about to make a home run.

Week4Assignment1+williams+denise

Wk4 Assignment 1+Williams+Denise
Well here I am in week 4 half through the course. Wow! I am asked to discuss my use of social media and technology and to discuss the stage of group development we are in.
I cannot say that I have used a lot of technology for this class. However, I have downloaded the Walden University App to my iPhone and I occasional go to LinkedIn for professional networking. Also I have downloaded some software to assist with my writing skills. I am in constant communication with the Walden group on LinkedIn which we are usually having interesting conversations. I have also downloaded iBook for this class which has been helpful.
After reviewing Tuckman’s stages of group development, it is evident that the virtual team that I am a part of is in the stage of performing.  Although I think we could be in the norming stage. We are now in week four which is half way through the course, and we have gotten accustom to giving feedback to each other and receiving feedback from the instructor. In the performing stage the team is knowledgeable of the topic and we are motivated to succeed. The fact that we are interacting online and have not met each other face to face proves that each of us are mature and we are focused on the course material not each other’s personal feelings.
The discussion topics allow us to get a feel for each other and openly communicate, which makes the team concept real. We are performing our assignment by reading the course material and gaining knowledge of the subject matter. Just look in week 3 for instance we had some serious discussion and few people were disagreeing which shows signs of dissenting opinions amongst the team, is this good or bad?  Either way it show we are developing each week that passes.

MHRM 6100+Week2

My assignment was to address my use of mobile technology and social media tools. Well I was asked by my employer to assist in the social networking assignment that was given to he analyst. We are required to set up a web page for the veterans and create securing messaging where they can communicate with their primary care team instead of needing an appointment. However, I had no clue as to what she was expecting, I had to go and ask my cousin who is 13 years of age to help me. I was feeling quite embarrassed to ask a child to assist me.  When I first got the hang of it I thought oh this is all, however only to find out it was more to it. So I continued to play around in the different programs and eventually I got the hang of it. I believe that if you do not use the knowledge sometimes you will lose it, this is what has happened to me. In my personal opinion I believe mobile technology and social media tools can be used differently to enhance their benefit in learning, maybe by integrating some of the techniques so that they are more user friendly. I find that if you are not familiar you can really become frustrated with the process.
